A delegation of participants at a training programme organised for government leaders by the Institute for Public Administration was received at the Gulf Petrochemical Industries Company (GPIC).

This was part of the Company’s keenness to consolidate cultural and academic cooperation with higher educational institutions within and outside Bahrain and as an example to industrial companies operating in the field of petrochemicals and fertilizers.

Several members of the Company’s Executive Management, led by Human Resources Manager Mr. Yousuf Fakhro, received the visitors and conveyed to them the greetings of GPIC President Dr. Abdulrahman Jawahery, who is on a visit abroad.

Mr. Fakhro reviewed with the delegation the Company’s philosophy, its various programmes, teamwork and its role and mission towards the local community. He explained GPIC is not only seeking profits but its vision of success is based on social responsibility and other community activities.

GPIC Training and Development Supervisor Dr. Ahmed Bucheeri briefed the guests on the Company’s leadership style and pointed out the importance of training programmes that aim at raising efficiency and professionalism. He highlighted the high Bahrainisation and the Company’s succession policies.

He said GPIC is proud of its excellence in the areas of occupational safety, health and the environment in which it has won many regional and international awards along with acclaim from many specialised institutions. He said the Company also has a record is worksite safety and in achieving record hours at work without a lost time accident.

The members of the delegation asked a number of questions on the aspects of leadership, management and nature of work.

The guests were taken around the Company’s complex, where they visited the factories and facilities as well as the environmental projects. They were later treated to a luncheon at GPIC Club.

The members of the delegation thanked the executive management for the welcome and the hospitality and said the visit had given them the opportunity to learn about the development witnessed by the petrochemical and fertilizer industry in the region.

They said they were impressed at the reputation GPIC enjoys as in industrial Company of repute and its positive positive roles, both in terms of community work and the environment.
