The Bahrain Society for Training and Development (BSTD) has honoured two Gulf Petrochemical Industries Company (GPIC) employees Ms. Thajba Ibrahim and Ms. Khulood Abbas for excellence in Human Resource development to the private sector for the year 2016.

BSTD Honorary President H.E. Mr. Ibrahim Al Khalifa Al-Dossary presented certificates to the two during a special ceremony to mark Bahrain’s National Day and Bahraini Women’s Day, on the theme, The Role of Bahraini Women in the Development of Human Resources.

GPIC President Dr. Abdulrahman Jawahery congratulated the employees and said the Company is keen to encourage women through training, attending workshops and specialised courses.

He said Company staff and employees are regularly honoured by institutions and organisations within and outside Bahrain and highlighted this was due to GPIC’s approach under the guidance of its Board of Directors, which was keen to equip workers with the skills and knowledge necessary to perform their jobs efficiently. Dr. Jawahery said creation of a positive attitude among workers in accordance with the challenges the industry vases, was a pre-requisite with company policy.

He praised the two employees’ efforts and their management skills and said they were extremely professional in the face of pressures of work and performed tasks assigned to them with a high degree of skill.

Ms. Thajba Ibrahim has been with the GPIC since 2007 and Ms. Khulood Abbas since 2009. They have both attended a number of specialized training courses within the company and abroad and have carried out their duties professionally and in line with the aspirations of the Company.
