Saudi Arabia’s Jubail Fertilizer Company (Al Bayroni) President H.E. Mr. Fahad M. Al-Battar, along with other company official, visited the Gulf Petrochemical Industries Company (GPIC) to take a look at the industrial complex.
GPIC President Dr. Abdulrahman Jawahery and members of the Executive Management received the visiting delegation. Dr. Jawahery said the visit is continuation of bilateral cooperation between the two companies and would promote close coordination for their mutual benefit.
Speaking on the occasion, Dr. Jawahery said such meetings are important for exchange of views regarding the development of relations and common interests between the two companies. He spoke about the Saudi Company’s role in the field of petrochemicals and said it contributes immensely to the status of the region’s industry.
The head of the visiting delegation said he was delighted at the visit that had helped develop a relationship between the two companies to serve their common interests. He spoke of his pride at GPIC and said the Company is one of the most successful joint ventures in the Gulf region.
The delegation then toured the Company's facilities and plants, including the Academy of Leadership and Learning and the eLearning Centre. They were briefed on the specialised training programmes offered not only for Company employees but also for university students. They were told about the plant operations, the production process, exports as well as the Company’s commitment to safety and the protection of the environment.
The visitors were taken around the GPIC Complex where they saw the environmental projects and the green belt, which covers 13 per cent of its total area.
The guests said they were very impressed at what they saw, particularly environmental and charitable initiatives. They said they had a great opportunity to look closely at GPIC’s model as a successful and committed Bahraini Company to protect the environment.
They thanked the President and the Executive Management for the warm reception and the hospitality. They said Bahrainis have a special relationship with the Saudi people and stressed on the cohesion and the common aspirations of the people of the two countries.
