The Gulf Petrochemical Industries Company (GPIC) launched the 2016 edition of its “GPIC in the Local Press” book, which documents the Company's news published in local newspapers, during a ceremony at the Ritz Carlton Bahrain Hotel and Spa.
Editors of local newspapers and publications, journalists and members of the Executive Management were present along with the Deputy Chairman of the Labour Union.
Speaking on the occasion, Company President Dr. Abdulrahman Jawahery thanked the print and the broadcast media, especially the Bahrain Press, for covering GPIC’s activities.
He spoke about the journalists’ integrity and honesty and their keen desire to convey to highlight the Company’s achievements. He complimented Bahrain’s companies for inviting national media attention, which contributed in highlighting their services.
Dr. Jawahery focussed on the positive role the coverage reflects not only on the Company but also on its employees. He said they would all continue to strive to achieve more and remain committed to the one-family spirit. He said all employees feel the new coverage results in forming a favourable public opinion that works to highlight the efficiency and professionalism of Bahrain’s companies and management of large industrial projects.
He said GPIC believes in the media’s important role at all levels, not only in publicising the Company’s achievements in operations, productivity and profits, but also in highlighting its efforts to serve and support the community. He spoke about the publication of news stories regarding GPIC’s sponsorship of events organised by institutions, associations, and sports clubs.
Dr. Jawahery said the Company’s Management always seeks to strengthen links with the Press and maintain regular contact with journalists, writers and editors of local newspapers. He said media representatives’ professionalism and resolve in carrying out their duties deserve appreciation and praise.
The President praised the efforts of the Board of Directors in drawing up successful strategies and developing appropriate plans to overcome economic challenges and said these had enable the GPIC to contribute to Bahrain’s success and development.
He said all Company employees keenly complied with global systems in quality, environment, occupational health and safety, and information security, which enabled GPIC to obtain top certification.
Dr. Jawahery said increasing competition has made everyone more determined prove their ability to adapt and continue to achieve. He said they would continue to meet the challenges and the competition to prove GPIC is the “jewel of companies.”
He said he hoped the latest edition would be useful reference for economists and researchers as well as those interested in the regional petrochemical industry. He said it would also be a valuable addition to the Company's archives and a historical reference on its website.
Dr. Jawahery thanked all those who contributed to the Company’s achievements and called upon the Press to continue to follow the activities of the Company. He thanked for their interest in covering the Company's activities and their commitment.
