19 March 2017

A delegation from the Rotary Club of Manama, led by its President, H.E. Mr. Fareed Bader, visited the Gulf Petrochemical Industries Company (GPIC).

The visit came within the framework of the Company’s efforts to strengthen social ties with clubs, professional associations and private charities.

GPIC General Manager Manufacturing Mr. Fadhel Al Ansari, members of the Executive Management and the Deputy Chairman of the Labour Union, along with Company officials, received the guests.

The General Manager conveyed to the visitors the greetings of Company President Dr. Abdulrahman Jawahery and briefed them on GPIC’s business philosophy, strategy and operations. They were told about the methodology used in Management and operations, production and export as well as the Company’s most important achievements in the field of safety, quality, environmental conservation and contributions to the community.

The visitors were made aware of the training of Bahrainis and providing them with technical skills needed for industrial work as well as enhancing their leadership qualities. They were told of the working of the state-of-the-art carbon dioxide recovery plant, the first such in the region.

The delegation visited the Academy of Leadership and Learning as well as the eLearning Centre and was told of the Company’s proposed expansion projects that would increase production.

The visitors then toured the complex, during which they saw the plants and the various environmental projects.

They later visited the GPIC Club, where a luncheon had been organised in their honour.

In a statement, Dr. Jawahery said they were delighted at hosting the Rotary delegation. He added it was an opportunity for the visitors to witness the great development in Bahrain and at GPIC in the field of petrochemicals and chemicals.

Dr. Jawahery praised the Club’s contributions to Bahraini society and its services to encourage scientific projects, educational and cultural programmes and the setting up fundraising activities to support charitable and social work.

Mr. Bader thanked the GPIC Management for the welcome and the hospitality and expressed admiration for what they had seen in terms of plant operations and other infrastructure at the complex. He applauded the Company’s community social responsibility activities, which, he said, left a positive and influential impression on society and individuals.

Mr. Bader said the members of the delegation would pass on their observations to their colleagues at the club and would speak about Bahrain’s development in the industrial field and of GPIC’s success as an example of partnership between Gulf companies.
