30 July 2017

A group of children taking part in the annual Summer Camp organized by the Gulf Petrochemical Industries Company (GPIC) brought joy to children under treatment at the Bahrain Defense Force Hospital by distributing gifts to them.

Company President Dr. Abdulrahman Jawahery thanked the Chairman and members of the Social Activities Committee for the humanitarian initiative, which, he said, instills in children a culture of volunteerism and a spirit of humanity, while encouraging them to love others.

He said GPIC Management is keen to establish human values and ethics not only for its employees, but for the community as a whole.

He said the summer activities stimulate students to experience new and useful things. The programmes, he added, provide enjoyable times with a lot of joy away from daily pressures, and allow participants to make new friends and develop their social skills.

Dr. Jawahery called on parents to ensure that their children are included in the programmes. He said these help in confidence-building through interaction with others.

The Summer Camp is being organised by the company since 2005. Its activities aim at developing intellectual and cultural skills of students and to expand their knowledge in a safe environment that allows them to interact with their peers under the supervision of a group of specialists.

These activities are popular among the children, who benefit from the annual exercise.
