The Gulf Petrochemical Industries Company (GPIC) took part in the Careers Fair 2017 organised by the University of Bahrain (UOB).
The event, under the patronage of the Minister of Education H.E. Dr. Majed Bin Ali Al Nuaimi, was held at the Sakhir Campus from March 13 to 15.
GPIC’s participation came as part of the ongoing cooperation between the Company and Bahrain’s higher education institutions, and to reach out to the students who are about to graduate.
UOB President Dr. Riyad Yousif Hamza and a number of officials visited the Company's pavilion and were briefed on its recruitment and training procedures. The President was presented a commemorative plaque to enhance the relationship between GPIC and the UOB.
The President expressed appreciation at the Company's efforts to support university activities, including training students before they graduate, in all engineering and administrative disciplines, as well as cooperation between the two sides in organizing conferences and workshops.
GPIC's participation in the exhibition underscored its close and continuous cooperation with the UOB, one of Bahrain’s prestigious institutions. The Company is keen to showcase opportunities available to students who are expected to graduate at the end of the academic year.
The fair aims to build bridges between students and institutions wishing to take in Bahrainis who are equipped with academic and professional qualifications, based on their requirements.
The fair also aims at guiding students towards the needs of the market and helps them identify their specialties according to market needs. This is supported by Bahrain’s economic stability and advanced financial and commercial status in the region.
The Company's participation comes alongside other national companies and institutions that target Bahraini UOB students to inform them of the job opportunities needed by the Bahraini market, in accordance with the nature of their work.
Students and visitors were impressed with the Company's pavilion and its activities, training programmes and events that showed the great attention GPIC gives to the human element.
