Gulf Petrochemical Industries Company (GPIC) President Dr. Abdulrahman Jawahery led the Company’s delegation at the 86th annual conference of the International Fertilizer Industry Association (IFA), held in Berlin, Germany, from June 18 to 20.

The conference discussed a range of issues, including specialized working papers on future prospects for fertilizer and nutrient supply, as well as studies on future farming systems.

The conference sessions also discussed and exchanged views on topics and issues related to the industry's vital strategies and requirements, including, but not limited to, the commitment of members to improve performance by better understanding customer needs and supporting high quality agricultural nutrient solutions.

Speaking about the conference, Dr. Jawahery praised its success, stressing the importance of the Company's participation in the global gathering since it is one of the most important companies in the region that contributes to meeting a global demand for high quality agricultural nutrients.

He said it was an opportunity to meet with representatives and heads of international companies working in the global fertiliser sector and their derivatives and discuss with them all that would enhance cooperation and joint integration.

He stressed GPIC’s keenness to attend such international conferences where the latest data on agriculture and crops are discussed and presented.

He said participants discussed in detail the challenges facing the fertiliser industry at the global level, the rapid technical progress and the boom in sustainable and innovative seed and agricultural nutrient technology.

Dr. Jawahery praised the excellent organization of the conference and stressed the importance of the Company's presence in such specialized events that promote the company and its high-quality products as well as attracts new customers and markets.

On the sidelines of the event, Dr. Jawahery and the accompanying delegation held meetings with a group of accredited distributors and buyers to study the possibility of building bridges of cooperation.

GPIC is one of the most active members of the IFA for several years. The IFA has a membership of 540 companies engaged in the production, trade, transport and distribution of fertilisers and agricultural nutrients. Together they produce about 170 million tons annually, supporting global agricultural production.

GPIC continues to strengthen its regional and global position as a leader in the fertiliser industry and continues to invest in its facilities, build strong relationships with customers and meets their needs as much as possible.

In recent years, the company has witnessed an exponential growth in production, which has resulted in several records and production and exports.
