A National Guard delegation, headed by the Head of Operations and Training Division, Lt. Col. Fahad Majed Al Rumaihi, visited the Gulf Petrochemical Industries Company (GPIC).

   

Company Safety, Security, Health and Environment Manager Mr. Jassem Darwish and other officials welcomed the visitors and commended them for the visit, which aims to enhance cooperation and coordination between the two sides.

Mr. Darwish gave a detailed explanation about the nature of procedures related to the safety of plants and installations, in addition to the arrangements to protect its maritime borders in cooperation and coordination with the Ministry of Interior.

The delegation also toured the Company's main export lines as well as the export port and visited a number of environmental projects inside the complex.

In a statement, GPIC President Dr. Abdulrahman Jawahery highlighted the important role played by the National Guard in carrying out their national duties and praised their level of qualification, training and readiness, to deal with events efficiently and effectively.

Dr. Jawahery referred to the Company's efforts to implement its strategies related to the implementation of international standards for security and safety in various establishments, including plants and ports. He pointed out that the Company now has a good record in terms of security and safety.

He said GPIC has invested in its Bahraini cadres and provided all training, care and other opportunities for them, both at home and abroad, to instill a culture of security and safety at work. He said the Company has managed by giving priority to safety of individuals on the profits of achieving the highest security and safety rates at all stages of manufacturing and production.

Lt. Col. Al Rumaihi thanked and appreciated the officials for the hospitality and stressed the importance of special procedures followed by the Company to secure its facilities and maritime borders.

He also highlighted the special attention the Company pays to sustainable projects, whether through its green projects, the fish farm or the bird sanctuary, which reflect the cleanliness of the Company's environment.

GPIC is a leading Company in the field of security, safety and the environment and has won several national and international awards in the field, such as the Robert Campbell Safety, Health and Environment Award from the National Safety Council of the United States and the Sir George Earl Royal Society for the Prevention of Accidents (RoSPA) Award.
