Saudi Basic Industries Corporation (SABIC) Executive Vice President, Innovation and Business Development H.E. Mr. Uwaidh Al Harethi and Gulf Petrochemical Industries Company (GPIC) Board member H.E. Mr. Ahmed Mohammed Al Omar visited the Company's complex, where they were welcomed by its President, Dr. Abdulrahman Jawahery, members of the Executive Management, Labour Union Deputy Chairman and officials.

Dr. Jawahery praised the visitors’ efforts to strengthen cooperation and coordination between SABIC and GPIC at all levels. He briefed them on the nature of the Company's work and operational strategy, outlined production and export details and reviewed the Company’s achievements in the manufacture of high quality petrochemicals and fertilizers, manufactured with the highest standards of safety, quality and environmental protection.

The visitors were taken to the state-of-the-art carbon dioxide recovery plant, the first of its kind in the Middle East, which contributes significantly to reducing the harmful emissions resulting from factory operations.

They toured the Learning and Leadership Academy and the e-learning centre and were briefed about the latest programmes and training activities as part of the Company’s continuing education programmes.

They visited the HRH Princess Sabeeka Garden for Aromatic Plants and the Herbs and Medicinal Plants Garden set up to preserve rare medicinal herbs that were used in the past for therapeutic purposes. Mr. Al Harethi planted a palm tree to commemorate his visit and later went to the charity farm and the bird sanctuary.

Mr. Al Harethi praised the modern technologies and the advanced teaching and training methods at the academy and stressed such a facility within the complex confirms the attention the Board of Directors gives to staff training issues and ensures they are provided with the latest technology and knowledge related to the industry. He said the Company is keen to remain successful and competitive and expressed admiration for its interest in environmental projects and sustainable development issues.

Dr. Jawahery said he was delighted at the visit, including that of H.E. Mr. Al-Omar, to follow up on their efforts to maintain the pace of the Company's development with all efficiency and professionalism. He thanked the visitors for honoring employees for distinguished service and said such recognition is the best evidence of the great interest that the Board of Directors show in Company employees.

Dr. Jawahery praised the excellent relations between GPIC and SABIC and said Mr. Al Harethi’s visit had provided an opportunity for them to become aware of the latest developments at the Company and its efforts in the field of business development and sustainable development.

Mr. Al Harethi expressed pleasure at the Company’s development and in taking a close look at the progress of work. He thanked Dr. Jawahery and the members of the Executive Management for their efforts in implementing the Board's policies.
