Earlier, H.E. the Minister delivered a speech at the opening of the forum, which was held under his patronage. This year's event was attended by more than 2000 executives and others from 52 countries. During the speech, the minister stressed the need to adopt the principle of change in companies and said it was only then that sustainability could be achieved for many years to come.

GPIC participated in the forum with a high-level delegation headed by H.E. Dr. Al Sharyan. The forum was held under the theme of "Achieving transformation and investment". Specialists presented technical papers, discussed and deliberated important issues.

The GPCA is the first union of its kind in the Middle East. It has witnessed a steady expansion in its activities since it was set up in March 2006 to guide the chemical and petrochemical industries in the Gulf States towards a new era of fruitful cooperation.

The GPCA has achieved a new dimension in its mission by creating a forum for discussion and a platform through which petrochemical and chemical companies communicate and share their concepts and ideas. It has gained a good reputation since its inception to guide the sector in the region.
