In line with the company’s commitment towards its society, environment and the welfare of the young people of Bahrain, GPIC launched its socio-environmental programme: “Ministry of Education & GPIC Environmental Research Programme” in collaboration with the Ministry of Education (MoE) in the Kingdom.

The MoE and GPIC Environmental Research Programme aims to:

  • Enhance scientific research skills amongst students of Bahrain schools.
  • Raise student awareness towards saving the environment.
  • Foster a healthy competition amongst school students and hence tap their creativity and innovation, especially with regard to environmental projects.


Research and projects can be of any one of the following categories:

  • Pollution control
  • Power and water conservation
  • Recycling and re-use
  • Protection of wild life and marine resources
  • Agricultural promotion and green space development

The Environmental Research Programme Secretariat is the administrator of the programme. The Secretariat is composed of representatives from the Ministry of Education, GPIC and external environmental consultants.
